CONTEMPORARY ARTIST

ARTIST BIO

Chris Thalgott

My paintings explore the emotional resonance of color, drawing from meditative imagery, Reiki experiences, and Jungian inner work. Inspired by the atmospheric depth of Diebenkorn, the fluidity of Frankenthaler, and Thiebaud’s luminous palette, I create abstract compositions that begin with structure but evolve through a process of surrender. Layers are added, scraped, and reworked to reflect an honest, intuitive process. Each piece becomes a visual record of inner dialogue—expressing what’s felt but unseen, balancing vulnerability with painterly control.

I accept commissions, and select pieces are available for purchase as original works or premium Giclée prints on fine art paper.

"In nature, light creates the color; in the picture, color creates light. Every color shade emanates a very characteristic light — no substitute is possible."
